We are done counting down. We are away, right now baby!

As ever, a huge thanks to Simon for doing the necessary organising yet again this year. I'm sure we'll all want to buy you a drink as compensation, Simon. ( While hoping we don't tip you over the edge and turn you into the Sambuca Monster! ) The trip details are..

Chalet:

Chalet Turia is located in the high quality Altitude complex, just below the centre of Arc 2000. Access to the slopes is a short walk (350 metres approx) to the drag lift or a short walk to the elevator accessing the ski school meeting point and the resort centre.

Chalet Turia is a lovely chalet apartment offering that little bit extra comfort in a first class location. Beautifully finished in wood, it combines an attractive traditional alpine style with modern comforts. All rooms are en suite and feature heated towel racks and hair dryers. Added to this, there is a spacious open-plan living/dining room with an open fireplace and a balcony with breathtaking views across the valley. Built to a high standard the complex houses a swimming pool, sauna and bar. All these sports facilities are free to residents of the complex.

Due to the chalet's proximity to the slopes there is a snowy path to the chalets so good walking shoes and easy to carry bags are recommended.

Snow News for France - 16 January 2006

Great news as conditions are forecast to improve in France over the next couple of days with new snow falling. Between ten and thirty centimeters are predicted for this week. The cloud is gradually coming in today, so there will be some poor visibility. Snow has already started to fall in Alpe d'Huez (88/147cm) and Vaujany (15/147cm), so there is already a dusting. The base is still pretty hard in most resorts, but as more snow falls the pistes will get softer.
